HOW TO RING PLAIN BOB DOUBLES BY THE TREBLE

Most Doubles methods can be rung in the following way:

After you have led, Plain Hunt up towards the back.  Notice when you follow the Treble. The position in which you meet the Treble tells you what your next piece of work is.

After you’ve done that next piece of work, Plain Hunt back down to lead. When you have led, Plain Hunt towards the back again and repeat the process.

The chart below tells you what that mysterious next piece of work will be in a Plain Course of Plain Bob Doubles.

Plain Bob Doubles Plain Course

If the Treble is your first bell

Make 2nds over it and lead again

If the Treble is your second bell

Dodge 3 – 4 up

If the Treble is your third bell

Make four blows behind

If the Treble is your last bell

Dodge 3 – 4 down

After a Bob…………

Go down to lead, and start hunting up again, and continue in the same way - note where you pass the Treble and do the appropriate piece of work, as in the chart above.
