The Association of Ringing Teachers (ART) is the management and accreditation body for the teaching schemes and the Learning the Ropes programme for new ringers, and is appproved by the Central Council of Church Bell Ringers.
The ART training schemes are the recommended schemes for training ringing teachers. They are open to all ringers, regardless of teaching experience. There are two Modules, one for handling (Module 1) and one for foundation skills and teaching basic change ringing (Module 2F and 2C). To become an accredited ART teacher, you need to demonstrate that you have used the knowledge and skills gained from the day courses. To support you after you've attended a course, you are given a mentor and there are many online resources (www.smartringer.org ). ART publishes several books and DVDs which can be ordered from the ART shop.
